(The game plan from now on is called Grab The King.)

First Battle of St Albans, 1455, the Yorkists grab the king, but Queen Margaret
grabs him back at the Rout of Ludford, when Richard the Protector and his
main ally the Earl of Warwick, have to flee the country.

But, 1460 they’re back. They grab mad King Henry at the battle of Northampton,
but then Duke Richard makes his big mistake …

he tries to seize the throne.

No matter how defective the king’s rule might be, to the medieval mind
the king was still a man apart, having been anointed with
God’s sacred oil at his Coronation. Next Page
